Be Melting Snow- by Rumi
Totally conscious, and apropos of nothing, you come to see me.
Is someone here? I ask.
The moon. The full moon is inside your house.
…I’m in here, comes a voice from the house, but we aren’t listening.
We’re looking up at the sky.
…Lo, I am with you always means when you look for God,
God is in the look (def: the appearance of a person) of your eyes,
in the thought of looking, nearer to you than your self…
There’s no need to go outside (def: the external side or surface of something)
Be melting snow. Wash yourself of yourself.
Dear Beloved,
Be the melting snow.
Wash away the glacier-like and frosted over idea of the flesh self… thaw and unearth the brilliant light and bursting love of the burgeoning Divine self.
Behold, by turning your gaze upward…from the perspective of your now puddled persona…you, once and for all, will be looking fully into the eyes of the season-less God-like self…the I AM who is with you always and forever.
